One of streetwear’s most visionary leaders, Chris Gibbs, has collaborated with Otis to create an exclusive drop filled with grails from sneaker history. Originally from Canada, Gibbs is best known as the owner of one of the leading streetwear shops in the country, Union LA. Upon moving to New York in his 20s, he engrained himself into the grunge skate scene. It was his now wife, Beth, who introduced him to skating's high-fashion flip side: streetwear. In the early days of Union, Gibbs found his footing alongside streetwear heavyweights like James Jebbia (Supreme) and Eddie Cruz (Undefeated). Since then, Union transitioned from the original Soho location to Los Angeles, with Gibbs at the helm of the streetwear behemoth
In this drop, we feature Gibbs' favorites from brands like Supreme, Stussy, Patta, Undefeated, and Union. Each of these brands has a large following, separate from their sneaker collaboration, for their respective roles in streetwear history. The collection includes the Nike SB Dunk Low x Supreme “Black Cement” and “White Cement”, Nike SB Dunk High x Supreme “Blue Star”, “Red Star”, and “Orange Star”, Nike SB Dunk Low x Stussy “Cherry”, Nike Air Max 1 x Patta “Chlorophyll”, Air Jordan 1 x Union “Blue Toe” and “Black Toe” and the Air Jordan 4 “UNDFTD”.
Although the exact production of each shoe cannot be confirmed, the sneakers constituting the Chris Gibbs x Otis collection are scarce. For example, the Air Jordan 4 x UNDFTD was limited to 72 pairs, sent only to friends and family. All Supreme products (Nike collaborations included) are built on a model of extremely limited quantities. To find such limited drops in deadstock condition, as the majority of these sneakers are, is an even more difficult task.
