How rare are Nintendo games? The WATA population report has the answers

• The leading collectible video game grading company, WATA Games, has released a population report for Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) games, with future reports for other consoles planned.

• With rare video games commanding high prices, the report lends more insight into the makeup of the rare games market.

Fun Fact: Many of the recent headlining video game sales in the past year were NES games. See: Super Mario Bros. ($2m), The Legend of Zelda ($870k), and Super Mario Bros. 3 ($156k).

Virgil Abloh’s lasting impact on fashion

• Virgil Abloh, the designer who founded luxury fashion label Off-White, passed away last weekend after a private battle with a rare form of cancer. He was 41.

• In his short life, Abloh managed to bring streetwear to the forefront of fashion, merging the online world with haute couture while collaborating with commercial brands like Nike and Evian.

Fun Fact: Abloh originally studied architecture and earned a master's degree in the field from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He noted in a recent interview that he started Off-White as a way to investigate architecture.

The hottest real estate market? The metaverse.

• Investment firms are snatching up digital real estate in metaverse worlds like Sandbox and Decentraland with plans to rent them out to users in the future.

Republic Realm, a digital real estate developer, just paid a record $4.3m for land in Sandbox. They broke a sales record that had been set just a week earlier by Tokens.com.

Fun Fact: Republic Realm sold its Metaflower Super Mega Yacht for 149 ETH (~$650k) this week, which is so far the most expensive NFT asset in The Sandbox.
